I am in NYC with my girlfriend. We are doing stuff my husband would never do with me like taking Indian Cooking Classes, seeing Wicked, The Blue Man Group and shopping! I have lost 23# so far and hope I don’t gain anything on this trip. I am taking a break from my medically supervised THRIVE program while I am on vacation but I plan to resume it when I get back November 22 . Then I will take another break fo the Christmas holidays. It has been so easy to stay on this diet plan. When I get back from this trip I will let you know if I gained any weight or stayed even.
I loved reading Brendan Brazier’s Thrive the Vegan Nutrition Guide to Optimal Performance in Sports and Life. Brendan is Vegan so I was thrilled when he shared such great information on how to eat high protein staying Vegan but best how to live a healthy vegan lifestyle. His book has so much detailed information about why we crave and the results of stress on our bodies. He talks a lot about reducing stresses, in addition to guiding one through what and when and how to eat Vegan proteins to help maintain an Alkaline body system. It is bad for the body to be acidic; it stresses the body, makes cortisol levels rise and impairs sleep just to name a few bad things. I highly recommend reading and putting to use the information in his book and I also recommend his cookbook called THRIVE foods 200 Plant-Based Recipes for Peak Health. I plan on using recipes such as Indian-Spiced Lentil Hemp Patties, Nut Loaf TV Dinner, Pumpkin Gnocchi with Jerusalem Artichoke Puree’ and Thai Vibe. You can get these great books below:
